About measuring vibration wire sensor

AlexChao Aug 10, 2011 01:01 AM

Dear Sir

I have only one vibration wire sensor by CR1000,and want

to measure frequency without avw200.How to do it that

connecting to CR1000,and writing CR1 File.

Thanks

Hi AlxeChao

you have to use AVW200 or AVW1 or other vibrating wire interface.

If the sensor is a vibrating wire based sensor the best advice is to get the best noise resistant measurement use an AVW200. If noise is not a problem the AVW1 can give a good measurement too although we do not supply these now.

There are a few vibrating wire sensors that can be measured without either interface, but they are few and far between. They need to work off a 2.5V excitation and produce a reasonably large signal from that low drive. Follow the instructions for the AVW1 but wire the sensor directly to the EX output and the return signal to the logger input directly. CS does not officially support direct connection like that.

If on the other hand you have a sensor that measures "vibration" you may mean something else entirely. Please give more details of the sensor.
