My Laptop does not have a serial port. so I am using a serial to USB wire to connect CR 800 to my laptop. But I don't think the USB to serial connection is working optimally.
Connection error are frequent. When I tested the communication of CR 800 with a PC (that has a serial port in it), I didn't have any connection issues at all.
Can anybody suggest what specific USB-serial connection works best with CR 800?
Or any other possibilities?
Right now, I am working with Loggernet and have window 7 in my Laptop. I checked the driver for the existing usb-serial and its installed.

Not all USB to Serial adapters are created equal. The major differences you'll see are driver quality and ability to adequately drive voltage levels.
