Connect CS-GPRS to Windows Hyperterminal

SoilResearcher Jul 15, 2011 07:29 AM

Hello, we would like to make some configuration at a CS-GPRS Modem (Wavecom Fastrack). However, we are not able to establish a connection between the modem and the hyperterminal programm under Windows.

We connected the modem with the 15-9 serial cable to the RS-232 port of the pc. And we checked the different baudrates, but had no success (AT&F Command did not result in the ok respond). What do we miss?!?

The cable supplied with the CS-GPRS package (a grey cable normally) should allow you to connect the modem to a PC. The packages with the Wavecom Supreme modem are shipped set to 9600 baud, whilst the newer ones with the Wavecom Extend modules are set to 115200 baud.

One confusiong issue can be if someone tries to use the modem with the TAPI interface of Windows to dial out for some reason. Windows often will turn off Echo of commands which means the modem will never respond to you unless you issue the AT&F at the right baud rate and save the setting.

If you are trying to use a cable we supply for connecting directly to the RS232 port of the datalgoger, this will not work for a direct connection to a PC as it is a "null modem" cable.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Your answer solved my problem.

I had to connect with the 15-9 serial cabel at a baud rate of 115200 and then send the AT&F command. Now it iw working perfect!
