Communicate data logger with the temperature controller

Aerosol Jul 6, 2011 12:36 AM

I have a CN 7523 temperature controller from OMEGA. I need to talk to this controller using MoDBUS ASCII. I am pretty new to this.

I just brought a CR 850 for my sensor and planning to buy PC400. I was wondering if I could use the logger and the software to talk to the controller and possibly program it to my plan.

Can anyone help me?

I'm sure if you give us an idea of what you are trying to accomplish with your system that someone will be able to help you.

Thanks Dave.

With the controller,

I am trying to heat a hollow pipe at different temperature starting at 25 C to 300 C (max).

Therefore I need to set up/program the controller in a way, that it will ramp up the temperature from one set point to another set point and stay on that set point for a while ( time to be decided) and then ramp up to a another set point ( more like a step wise increase in the temperature)

Do you have any application notes that i can go through, just to get an idea of how this stuff is done?
