Laird ConnexLink 4790 modem and CR1000

Bruce Mar 22, 2011 03:38 PM

I have linked the CR1000 with PC via two Laird ConnexLink 4790 900 MHz modem.

I can download program, view real-time data. I cannot collect data from CR1000.

The error are as below:

PackBus framing error “,” Invalid low level signature.

Transaction failure, “timed out of or resource error”, “table poll – table 1”

Please instruct me how to solve the problem.

Thanks.

A "PakBus Framing Error" can be reported when the signature of the datalogger response fails to correspond with the message contents and is grounds for LoggerNet to reject the message. With third party modems, there are the following likely causes:

- The modem is not set up to handle binary data correctly and winds up corrupting the stream of data because of certain characters (such as 0xFF) in that stream. This is a modem configuration issue and will have to be taken up with the manufacturer and/or the modem manual.

- The sending or receiving modem cannot handle all the bytes of data being sent by the datalogger and the link ends of dropping blocks of data. The best approach to solve this kind of problem is to set the max packet size for both LoggerNet (see the Maximum Packet Size device setting in the LoggerNet setup screen) and the datalogger (see the "Max Packet Size" setting for the CR1000 in the device configuration utility).
