Laird ConnexLink 4790 modem and CR1000

Bruce Mar 22, 2011 03:37 PM

I have linked the CR1000 with PC via two Laird ConnexLink 4790 900 MHz modem.

I can download program, view real-time data. I cannot collect data from CR1000.

The error are as below:

PackBus framing error “,” Invalid low level signature.

Transaction failure, “timed out of or resource error”, “table poll – table 1”

Please instruct me how to solve the problem.

Thanks.

My first thought is the modems are clipping, malforming, or dropping the data packets in some way. The buffer of the modem attached to the CR1000 modem may be overrunning. Then again maybe the packets are being dropped after X number of radio retries. When large data transfers (hence large packets) are being transferred is when I tend to see these sorts of modem problems. Knowing nothing about the modem and it not being one we sell I can't give you any specifics. If you can't get the modem(s) to handle the default maximum datalogger packet size of 1000 bytes, you may be able to work around the limitation by reducing the "Max Packet Size" in the datalogger.
