Hello All,
Fully updated XP box running Loggernet 3.4.1, RTMC v2.5.24 and RTMC Web v3.2.0.94.
Webpage is up and running and everything works well when designing, editing and publishing from the local machine.
When administering this computer via Microsoft remote desktop (from another windows XP, or from OS X 10.5) any editing of the RTMC file breaks images and plots within the RTMC file and webpage. It has been indicated by a Campbell engineer that this is due to the requirement of 32bit color depth for RTMC to operate. Following a suggestion from the internet I've changed the "Limit maximum Color Depth" in the "Group Policy Editor" to "client compatible", in hopes that a 32bit compatible client will work.
I have now had some success using a Win7 client, but haven't been able to thoroughly test this setup yet.
Questions for the Community:
1) Can others confirm that using a Win7 client and XP server is a usable solution with Microsoft Remote Desktop?
2) Can others confirm if there are 3rd party remote desktop solutions which do or do not work for administering RTMC?
Many thanks
I use LogMeIn to control the PC I have running Loggernet4.1 and RTMCPro 3.2 with RTMCwebs 3.2 and it works just fine.
I ahve been using remote desktop on both Windows XP and Windows 7 64-bit desktops to edit my RTMC and RTMC web which is running on a Windows 2005 Server.
cheers, Paul
Dave, thanks, what OS's are you using for server and client?
Paul, thanks. Windows Server editions likely support 32bit color depth in remote desktop natively.
I am running all of it on an ASUS eeBox with XP home. I am calling it with XP Pro.
