CR200 Regulator Specifications

CJ Dec 14, 2010 01:02 AM

Hi,

Could anyone tell me how much charge current the CR200 series loggers can handle?

I'm just wondering if a solar panel larger than 5 watts would be able to pass through more charge current to the battery and if so what is its limit?

Thanks

CJ,

Seems we've overlooked that in the manual and spec sheet. I will follow up with the design engineer to get a definitive answer.

However, taking a quick look at the schematic, my initial thoughts are that the maximum effective charging current is 700mA. So I would stay in the 10W or lower panel rating range.

Right in front of my face - CR200X brochure, Power specification:

MAXIMUM CONTINUOUS BATTERY CHARGING CURRENT:
0.9 A @ 20°C; 0.65 A @ 50°C

SOLAR PANEL:
10 W or smaller when using on-board charging circuit.
