I would like to know if anyone has a recommendation to troubleshoot the following problem.
I have a CR1000 in a station offshore, and a computer that collects data and uploads to the internet near the shore. The comunications are made using a pair of RF401 radios.
The weird thing is that when I try to connect using Loggernet, it does not work, it says "PakBus framing error" and cannot update table defs (a red box in the status bar appears showing "Table defs suspect") But when i try to connect using PC200W it does without a problem, i can do file management, data inspection, etc, without inspection.
Any ideas on how to solve it? I just tried to upgrade Loggernet to version 3.4.1 and it keeps failing.
I tried to see the status table with PC200W, but it's not possible, it says "Error polling status table. Table definitions are invalid."
After all afternoon of head-scratching, I used the File Control dialog "Format" button, and uploaded the CR1 program file again. Now it works flawlessly.
Does anyone have a rational explanation on what might have happened?
What operating system does the datalogger have?
OS 16 & 17 had an issue where in rare cases an invalid value could be written to the status table, which resulted in not being able to collect table definitions from the datalogger. One of the first things software will do is try to collect table definitions if it doesn't already have them. Loading a new program would reset the memory in the datalogger, thus resolving the problem.
If you are using OS 16 or 17, I would recommend upgrading to the latest. It can be downloaded from our web site.

Dana W.
The datalogger has OS revision 20. I have downloaded OS rev 21 to upgrade next time somebody goes to field service our stations.
As a follow up, I have a somewhat similar situation. I can get table defs using Loggernet 4.0, but can't using 3.4.1.
