Good Day
I have a few CR1000's connected in nearby fields. I normally go out to each station daily and collect the data manually.
How do i go about setting up the logger so that it downloads data to a file or website on our server.
What will I need in order to do this.
I could connect a modem to it but then we have to look at the costs of dialing up every log interval.
What is the best way to do this!
Thanks
If you can see (meaning you have line of sight) all the sites from the computer site, Spread Spectrum radios might be a good way to go, no monthly fees.
Jitesh,
Dave Adams is right. Radios would probably be the most economical. This setup would work like this.
Logger > Radio -------------> Radio to Desktop computer with LoggerNet Installed.

If by chance you have an Ethernet connection out there too (generally with Ethernet connectivity there also would be AC power), all you would need is an NL120.
Logger > NL120 ----------> Loggernet

Hi
Will those radios work in South Africa, we on the 900MHz band.
I already have a few Aerocomms AC4868-250M modules, but im not sure how to use them and also how to connect them with the Campbell loggers.
Have you worked with Aerocomms before??
I am not familiar with the Aerocomm modules. Typically a spread spectrum radio is transparent in it's communications, almost like connecting the logger directly to the serial port on the computer.
The good thing with the CSI radio's is that they use the PakBus communications protocol developed by Campbell for the loggers. I'm not sure about the licensing of Spread Spectrum for South Africa.
Check the links for the specifications:

Jitesh,
I know that a lot of their gear is used for Aeronautical communication, but I havn't worked with them. I guess the best way to find out whether the 900 MHz band will work in South Africa is to contact Campbell Scientific Africa.
