RTMC web server, CR 1000

kickhos Sep 30, 2010 07:09 PM

I have a desktop running RTMC Web Server continuously; the webserver is polling two data loggers, both CR1000. I've created two tabs in the web server, one for each data logger, both are identical and display 4 sets of data (1 graph with two data series, 1 wind dial, 1 numeric display).

I have each data logger set up for scheduled collection every 3 min (connected via wireless modem), and the table stores data every 3 min as well.

My main problem is that for unknown reasons the webserver will randomly stop updating the graph/dial/time...sometimes for several hours, sometimes more than a day; then randomly start updating again. In the meantime, the data file on the computer is updating routinely and on schedule every 3 min.

Any clues as to what would make the webserver stop updating?

Both data loggers are on Pakbus 1, but I was informed by Campbell this shouldnt' be an issue.

Are you running the latest RTMC Web Server version 3.2?

When you find it in this state, go to another web page (e.g. www.google.com) with the browser, delete all of the browsers temporary Internet files (usually available in Tools | Options with most browsers), close the browser, open it again, and go to the RTMC Web Server web page and see if it's up to date. What browsers have you seen this issue with?

only ever used IE to open web server page...web page is currently not updating (go figure), and doing what you mentioned above (deleting temp internet files) did nothing.

as noted in my last response, the webserver was not updating at 1pm on 10/5, checked it this morning at 7am and the last update was 2am 10/6. So somewhere between 1pm 10/5 and 2am 10/6 it began updating and then stopped again.

currently I'm running the webserver software while logged on as myself on the computer; is it possible to run the webserver as a 'service' so that it would run when the computer is on but not necessarily if myself or anyone were logged on?

Right now as I understand it you cannot run the RTMC webserver software as a service. I understand CSI is going to put that in the next version though.
