The documentation states that "RTMCRT Version 3.x is optimized for displaying projects created using the RTMC Pro 3.x development tool."
Does this mean that RTMC Dev 3.x works better with RTMC Pro 3.x than it does with RTMC Dev 3.x, even though RTMCRT and RTMC Dev are bundled in LoggerNetData? If so, what specific compatibility issues may arise when using RTMCRT to display a RTMC Dev project?
Mike
What we are trying to say (and missing :) is that all versions of RTMC must match. For example, you cannot develop your projects in RTMC Pro 2.3 and have them display correctly in a product version 3.1 (and vice versa).
This applies to all RTMC products -- RTMC dev (ships in LoggerNet), RTMC Pro Dev (purchased separately), RTMC Webserver (purchased separately), and RTMC Run-time (ships in LoggerNet; additional copies purchased separately).
There are patches on our web site that will upgrade an existing web server or run-time to the current shipping version. These patches should only be applied if you have LoggerNet 4.0 or RTMC Pro 3.0 or newer.
Note that if you have RTMC Pro 2.3, and you upgrade your LoggerNet to 4.0, your RTMC versions will no longer match (you would have a newer run-time than the Pro development tool). You would need an RTMC Pro upgrade as well.
If versions of RTMC Pro do not match, some components will not populate with values when you run them.
I hope this helps,
Dana
