I am able to connect to my CR23X using LoggerNet with a USB to serial cable on my Windows 7 laptop, but I am having trouble with data downloads. I have a brand new USB serial cable and I have never used my laptop to connect to this datalogger before. A couple of times, the download (downloading all since last download) proceeds fine for almost halfway through, then my computer screen gets obliterated with streaks and it freezes up requiring a reboot. A few other times, the download hasn't initiated at all (I get an error message - something about the I/O). Is this an issue with my operating system, cable, or both? I know the program is solid because a colleague was able to connect and download using his PDA just fine.
There is an incompatibility between LoggerNet 4 and some USB to serial cable drivers. You can try downloading the most recent driver from the manufacturer. If that does not work, or if you are unable to download the driver, give your local CSI office a call and we can provide you with an updated file that will (should :) resolve the issue.
