Hi,
I would like to know the consequence of defining a wrong Pconfig value for an A100R anemometer.
the A100R is a switching anemometer and not a high frequency(HF) anemometer
In the CrBasic line below it has been defined as 0, a HF value when in fact it should have a value of 2 for a switch closure device
PulseCount(WS1_ms,1,1,0,1.25,0.1)
how will this affect my output wind speed?
thanks for your support
Hard to tell definitively. The main difference is the measurement, in HF mode, will be subject to errors due to switch bounce, so one generally a switch closure could read as two or more counts.
The saving grace with the A100R (unlike many other switch closure anemometers) is that it still uses a mercury wetted relay contact. This is supposed to make the contact closure bounce free, i.e. guarantee one pulse per closure.
I have never tested this myself, but Vector state it is bounce free in their documentation. If so the readings should be OK.
