Is there any way to set the defaults in the email setup popup window for Alarm components in RTMC Pro? Or is it necessary to enter this information in for each alarm. I know I can set an alarm with all details and then copy and paste the alarm, but I was hoping there was a way to set this via a config file or some other method to have these default details already filled out whenever I add a new alarm to a screen.
Currently, copying and pasting alarms is the best solution. We are looking at adding the concept of "Alarm Profiles" to RTMC Pro that you would setup one time and then apply to all of your alarms. Along with this we are looking at adding the ability to dynamically change between profiles at run-time.
*Not Recommended* You could also manually manipulate the XML in the .rtmc2 file as well. Make sure you backup your .rtmc2 file before you attempt any manual changes as you could accidentally corrupt your .rtmc2 project file. Then, you could do a text search and replace on "mail.your-company.com" and change all of the default SMTP server values in the file to your SMTP server. Do this for all of the alarm email settings, and you would have all of the default values changed to your values in the project.
I just installed the RTMCPro patch 3.2 and was half-hoping to see this feature implemented, but I haven't found it yet. Any word on whether this will be implemented? My organization forces me to change password every six months which means I need to change the password for 20+ alarms that I have in my RTMC screens. I don't mind copying and pasting in the .rtmc2 files, but this should be something pretty easy to implement in RTMC Pro Development, right? Thanks.
This feature request is in our database, but it is not yet scheduled for a product release.
