Hello,
I've had a search of this forum for the problem I'm having, but haven't yet found anything that matches!
I have a CR1000, connected to an ER75i EDGE router via an NL115 ethernet module. The SIM in the router is GPRS enabled, and has a fixed IP.
When I try to connect to the logger using Loggernet, I get an unexpected socket error. However, I can happily view the logger's landing page in a web browser, and I can use TelNet to get the logger's terminal.
This leads me to believe that it may be a problem with port 6789 specifically. I checked, and this port is not getting blocked by our IT system.
At this point, I'm stumped! The logger is on, working, and appearing on the internet. I can look at the data being recorded using a web browser, but Loggernet can't connect to it!
Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
Stuart.
Have you checked the settings of the EDGE router. They will usually have a firewall and possibly needs port forwarding setup too.
The unexpected socket error is normally indicative that the socket can be opened initially but they gets shutdown.
Thanks Andrew - that sounds like a potential culprit. Do you know how I could remotely access the router's config page? It's not currently possible to plug into the router directly since it's out on site. When I use the fixed IP I have for the SIM, I get directed straight through the router and to the logger's landing page.
I am afraid I am not familiar with that router. Some similar products I know serve setup pages on different sockets, e.g. 8080, although most often have remote setup access blocked by default.
