We have a modem connected to a CR1000, the modem has a dedicated IP address that is a VPN into a network.
People on the network can ping the IP address, they can see ports 21 and 23 on the network and can access telnet (but stopped at the username prompt)
They cannot access the CR1000 via loggernet and cannot see port 6785 on the network.
The logger is not handling the PPP connection (through PPPOpen)as the modem is handling the connection automatically.
Any clues?
IF the logger is not handling the PPP connection, unless the modem has an ethernet connection to the logger then all you will be able to do is use the system in a terminal server mode where the connection port is defined by the logger not the modem.
If the connection to the logger is via ethernet, then you need to look at the port forwarding and firewall settings in the modem to check the normal Pakbus port (6785) is routed to the logger and incoming connections are allowed through to it.
