The Latest Cr1000 OS have an expanded Terminal Help menu. Two of several options is the P and W, P to access the Serial ports and W to just listen.
This is great for trouble shooting purpose, I guess that was the intent all along and it works great for sensors that are normally dormant and you have to poll for data.
However, I found out that if you try to monitor any serial port (1-4) while data is present, in other words the port is being bombarded by data from the sensor, the cr1000 prompt may not appear at all and if it does, typing H will not open all. Same goes for the W menu option.
This means you can not check or monitor any smart sensors connected to a Serial ports that are setup for power-up-to-run.
Has anyone run into this ?
Thanks
Fred
Fred,
I use this option quite frequently and have never seen this issue. If there is something else demanding time of the logger resources perhaps that's an issue. Check the status table for any "Skipped Scans"?
