Hello,
I've noticed that the data transfer rate when using a Lenovo thinkpad with serial to usb cables is incredibly slow. Anyone else have this problem? We've experienced this with multiple laptop/logger configurations.
Did you check the baudrate settings for the usb-serial bridge?
Windows..
Start > Control Panel > Device Manager
Search in the tree for 'Ports (COM & LPT)' and right click the USB-serial bridge you're using > select 'Properties'.
Under 'Port Settings'>'Advanced' set it to the max baudrate your datalogger is able towork with.
Campbell..
Next place to look at would be the Campbell software..
In Loggernet > Setup Screen I can set the baudrate for the COM-port being utilized.
personal experience: Lenovo Ideapad S10e (and other machines) with diverse USB-serial adapters (ATEN, etc.) go as high as 115,200 baud with CR3k, CR1k and CR800

Thanks Nico,
I tried your suggestion and it worked momentarily, as I could see data refreshing much faster in the table display, however after a few seconds it would lock up and crash RTDAQ. I'm usingn a CR5000, not sure if that makes a difference or not. I will have to keep searching for something else that is causing this hangup.
Make sure you are using the most recent driver for the USB to serial cable. If you still experience problems, try a cable from a different manufacturer.
I have found them to be pretty flaky, and what works with one piece of hardware may not necessarily work well with another piece of hardware.
