Wireless sensor networks

LeifJ Feb 2, 2012 12:36 PM

Good day all,

We have been doing a few tests with CS data loggers with good results. Now we are looking into building a big wireless sensor network. Up to 60 sensors.
But the sensors that we need to use are not Campbell Scientific sensors. It's a third party sensor with built in Modbus RS485 and SDI-12.

The sensors will be located two and two together in up to 30 locations.
Is there a way that we can build a wireless sensor network using these sensors? Or is it only possible with CS sensors?

Any info is very much appreciated.

Cheers.

It sounds to me that a CR206X, CR211X, or CR216X would be perfect for your application. Those devices can serve as wireless sensor interfaces for your SDI-12 or ModBus enabled sensors.
