CR1000 of CS I/O to Nexus 1250 RS485

CR2012 Dec 28, 2011 03:43 AM

Hi,
I am trying to use CS I/O port of the CR1000 to connect it to Nexus 1250 RS485 port. Do I need to have any specific communication port for that? Any specific Communication Protocol required??
And is that possible to connect CS I/O port to the RS232 Nexus while the other RS232 port connect to the computer?? will they conflict or not?

You cannot connect an RS232 device directly to the CS I/O port. You will need peripherals such as the SC932 or the SC105 in order to do this.

Thanks for the reply.
But how about connecting CS I/O of CR1000 to RS485 of the Nexus port?

IF the intention is to communicate between the logger and the Nexus using Modbus on one of its RS485 only ports, you will need to buy an MD485 interface.

You can communicate with the Nexus via that interface connected to the CS I/O port and still communicate with the logger connected to a PC on the RS232 port.
