Can both be used at the same time?
LoggerNet 3.4 is running and directly connected to a CR1000 via RS-232 port (it's all in a shed 1000 miles away). There's also a wireless broadband router at the site, which allows me to remote to the onsite computer and see Loggernet, make changes, etc...
I'd like to be able to change a variable (set a control port high or low) without having to remote to the onsite computer. I know I can attach an NL120, give the logger an IP address, then use SetValueEX. My question is: Can I do this while still maintaining the COM port connection, or is it mutually exclusive? I also have RTMC Pro on the onsite computer if that makes a difference.
Thanks
Eric
The Pakbus protocol allows multiple simultaneous connections. You will have to change the Pakbus address that Loggernet uses on itself on one of the PCs. Find 'Loggernet Pakbus Settings' under the Options menu from within Setup Screen. You should choose a unique address in the range 4001-4093.
Thanks JDavis. Not sure I understand though.
I've only got one LoggerNet subscription, and it's on the remote computer, so I use Windows Remote Desktop to access it and make changes.

I assume here that, when you refer to the SetValueEx command, that you are referring to using the web services command over HTTP. If that is the case, there should be no conflict whatsoever. What JDavis was referring to was that the datalogger can accept PakBus connections from multiple ports simultaneously provided that all of the nodes connecting have unique PakBus addresses.
HTTP is an entirely separate protocol than PakBus and they can both operating simultaneously.
