I have a site that uses a CR10xPB with an RF410 to collect data from 2 remote sites, both had CR210 dataloggers but recently we had some failures due to suspected lghtening events.
One of the units is still operational but the second has died, I have a replacemnt CR211x that I have installed and it is my understanding that this will talk to an RF410...is this correct??
The CR211x is recieveing data from the CR10xPB but the CR10xPB is not collecting the data off the CR211x
here is the respective codes
8: PakBus - Get/Send Locations (P190)
1: 17 SDC 7
2: 1060 Address
3: 26 Get Value
4: 0000 Security
5: 0 Remote Loc/Coil/Register
6: 6 Swath
7: 7 Local Loc [ R_stage1 ]
8: 24 Result Code Loc [ R_commsNow ]
9: Extended Parameters (P63)
1: 82 Option ;R
2: 40 Option ;(
3: 49 Option ;1
4: 41 Option ;)
5: 00 Option
6: 00 Option
7: 00 Option
8: 00 Option
and
GetValue (comms_fail,Master_Time,1,HHMM,1,1,1,00000)
The Cr211 stores 6 values that are aliased as R(1) to R(6)
I have checked the radio settings and they are as near enough to the functioning CR210 the only difference is the presence of RF_Protoocol, this is set to Transparent on the CR211
I am not sure what to look for as it appears to be set correctly
Due to the fact the CR211 is recieving the data from the PB 10x I would think the error is in the CR10xPb code but this looks ok too from what I can tell from the Help menus
The CR211 is running version v07 software and the CR210 v03A
any help and assistance much appreciated
regards
I would change the RF_Protocol setting in the CR211 to be the same as the other two radios. It looks like you might be mixing a Pakbus aware/node network with a transparent network which will give you unreliable results.

Thanks Gary
The CR210 does not have the RF protocol setting in the setup options
is this available in a later firmware update?
The RF410 at site I have not been able to extract the setup from and I suspect the setup of this might be causing the incompatability. Do the RF410's know how to talk to a CR211? rather than CR210 or should there be no difference?
thanks for help
The CR211 has a setting called Pakbus Aware/Transparent. You need to set this to transparent to be compatable with the older loggers which only worked in transparent mode.
It was possible to upgrade the CR210 to CR211s but this most often required the radio to be changed as some expense. Contact you local sales office if you want to consider this.
