Visala Ultrasonic wind sensor VMT702

JC Oct 3, 2011 08:55 PM

We have a ultrasonic anemometer Visala model VMT702. We want to connect the ultrasonic anemometer in a Campbell Scientific datalogger CR1000, but I don’t have idea how to program the Campbell and the wiring of the device. Do you have a sample code that I can use to get the readings?

First you have to set the device up, usual by connecting it to your computer via hyperterminal or similar and applying the settings you wish to use ie. protocol, parameters etc

Manual can be found here

If you want to use RS485, you will need an interface (MD485) from Campbell Sci, so try using RS232 or SDI12 to start with.
